UPDATE: Gazprom books no capacity for transit across Poland for Thu

(Adds new data in headline, lede, paragraphs 2–3)

MOSCOW, Dec 22 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom did not book capacities of the Yamal–Europe pipeline for gas transit across Poland for Thursday, auction platform GSA Platform said on Wednesday.

The company was to book 89.1 million cubic meters on the entrance to Poland, but it did not. This is the third day in a row Gazprom books no transit capacity via the pipeline.

Gazprom bought capacities for 27 million cubic meters of gas for Friday, for Saturday it booked 5.2 million cubic meters, for Monday 3.8 million out of available 89.1 million cubic meters. For Tuesday and Wednesday, Gazprom booked nothing. All the previous days in December the company booked 31.4 million cubic meters each day.

The Yamal-Europe pipeline, along with Nord Stream and Ukraine’s gas transportation system, is one of the key routes for Russian gas delivery to Europe. The 2,000-kilometer pipeline runs through Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany and can pump 33 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

A long-term contract between Gazprom and Poland on transit via the Yamal-Europe pipeline ended in 2020, and Gazprom started booking capacity at auctions.
